  1. Fuji Desk! is free!  It comes to you courtesy of Chet Walters for all
  2. the donations I've received for my ShareWare items (though not as many
  3. as I'd hoped).  Give it, upload it, pass it around!  The only
  4. requirement is that this text file accompany it and they both remain
  5. unmodified and in their present form.
  6.  
  7. I won't tell you what it does, but stick in your AUTO folder and boot. 
  8. It works in all three resolutions of any 520, 1040, or Mega ST. You can
  9. also run it from the desktop any old time.  Here's some hints:
  10.  
  11. FUJIDESK.PRG works best if run early in the AUTO folder.  You can
  12. actually run it anywhere in your AUTO queue, but it will initialize
  13. faster if it's early.  I have found that you should run it BEFORE
  14. HotWire! and UIS_II.  Anywhere else is ok, though.
  15.  
  16. If you run FUJIDESK.PRG a second (or third or fourth etc.) time, when
  17. it finds it's already been installed, it will let you SHOW or HIDE the
  18. current Fuji.  The interrupt that makes it all work still remains
  19. active, it just skips the good stuff and returns to the system if it's
  20. off.  The only way to physically remove it from memory is to reboot the
  21. machine..... but why would you want to?  Fuji Desk is a nifty little
  22. ditty that only takes up about 8K and doesn't hurt a thing.

  24. Fuji Desk will only display itself on a standard GEM menu bar that
  25. conforms to the desktop.  That means that there must be three spaces
  26. before the word "Desk" and the small 'e' must be the fifth character in
  27. the line.  This means it works with NeoDesk since NeoDesk has a small
  28. 'e' and there's enough room next to the 'N'. But this means that it
  29. won't work with Word Perfect since WP uses a Fuji of its own for the
  30. menu bar.  (Perhaps I shouldn't tell you this, but I used a sector
  31. editor to modify the WP.RSC file so that there are three spaces and the
  32. word 'Gem' replaces WP's Fuji.  That works great.  I'm watching that
  33. sucker spin its little heart out right now as I type this.  I also did
  34. this to Tempus and moved the word in GENST2 over a space so it all
  35. works with those programs too.  However, if you try this, you're on
  36. your own!  Use backups of the files and don't blame me if it won't work
  37. for you. _____ :-{)

  39. Included here, if you can afford a slot and 3K of RAM, is FUJIMATE.ACC. 
  40. Now, there are some cautions to using this accessory.  It will only do
  41. you good if FUJIDESK.PRG runs from the AUTO folder BEFORE the
  42. accessories launch.  It let's you turn Fuji Desk on or off at will.

  44. If you think Fuji Desk is messing up something for you, then shut it
  45. off.  I think you'll find it's not Fuji Desk at all but something else. 
  46. This little cutie is designed to be trouble free.  I have not had a
  47. problem with it since I wrote the thing and it's been running for quite
  48. some time now.

  51. it, you can help a poor starving ST programmer keep on working.

  57. Well, sometimes ya get bored and ya just need to do something so a few
  58. days after I uploaded FUJIDESK for the first time, I figured I'd add
  59. a feature.  Now the FUJIMATE accessory will allow you to speed up the
  60. spinner or slow down the spinner.  Nice.

  62. By the way, don't mix the new FUJIDESK and the new FUJIMATE with the
  63. old ones or it's crash city! (Believe me! I know!) Here's the poop:

  72. with you, but the ST gets a bit fussy about these things.  Don't mix 'em
  73. and don't drink and drive either.

  76. FUJIEDIT which will let you put your own things up there.  Ya got 24 bits
  77. by 16 bits to work with. Bigger than a mouse pointer!  Gee, how about a
  78. smile face ... or a rotating globe (nawww... that's been done).

  87.  Text file printer with 22 fonts and a font editor enclosed. Don't feel
  88. like booting up that DTP application for just a letter to Aunt Minnie
  89. in Minnesota?  Well, print a pretty with Dot Magic!  Comes with several
  90. utilities including one that lets you put those nice fonts on pics too!

  92. **** COMPACT DIR
  93. Directory dump with a twist.  Uses the smallest font of an HP DeskJet
  94. or superscript on an Epson compat to fit more than 10 meg worth of
  95. filenames on one page for easy cross-referencing.  Dump just one
  96. partition or the whole shebang!

  98. ***** EASY MOVE
  99. Tired of dragging those IMG files along with your GEM drawings from
  100. Easy Draw?  Use Easy Move instead.  This will copy or move GEM files
  101. searching through the file itself for any corresponding IMG files and
  102. will move them with it automatically.  A must if you use Easy Draw.

  104. ***** PIC_LOG
  105. Geeezzz! You've got all these clip art disks full of Degas, Tiny and
  106. Neo pics but you can't remember what they are with those cryptic
  107. filenames. Well, if you have an HP DeskJet, HP LaserJet, and Epson 24
  108. pin compat or just a none pinner, then you can dump a nice catalog of
  109. an entire disk of pics for easy referencing.  The HP drivers put 15
  110. full screens on one page!  LQ's get 9 pics a page.  It's easy!

  112. ***** PS to PM
  113. Got a huge library of 8 bit Print Shop icons gathering dust?  If you
  114. have an ST and an 8 bit Atari, you can use this to transfer an entire
  115. Print Shop disk full of graphics from the 8 bit to a nice alphabetized
  116. PrintMaster file for use on the ST.  You'll need a null modem to make
  117. the transfer complete.

  119. ***** CLIP_ART
  120. Got a thousand PrintMaster Graphics that you'd like to use elsewhere?
  121. This one will load up to 2000 PM icons from which you can view and
  122. select individuals to put on a Degas screen for easy access in other
  123. DTP applications.  Mono version fits more than 40 on a screen for easy
  124. clipping.  Color version slightly less.

  127. Right, and what would you do with all those PrintMaster icons if you
  128. don't know what they look like?  PM Cat is the answer.  Prints 77 icons
  129. in each page complete with name and library.  Works with Epson
  130. Compatible 9 pin or 14 pin printers.

  132. **** CHANGE EASELY
  133. Get tired of the same pic on your desktop when using Easel ST?  Use
  134. this handy accessory to change it on the fly!  Got a nice lady that
  135. you'd like to have peeking out from behind your windows but are afraid
  136. that you know who will get jealous?  Well, put her there any time you
  137. want, and if you feel someone sneaking up behind you, you can change to
  138. that nice mountain scene in an instant. Requires Easel ST v1.10 to
  139. work.

  142. Want to get that Computer Eyes shot of kids made into a cross stitch
  143. pattern?  If you have an Epson FX compatible printer then you can do it
  144. with STITCH X.  Load Tiny, Degas and Neo pics from which you can clip
  145. any portion to dump to the printer as a cross stitch pattern complete
  146. with color chart and symbols.  If your clip won't fit on one page, then
  147. it gets tiled for you up to poster size suitable for framing. (lo rez
  148. only)

  150. **** BIG_MAC
  151. MAC format picture viewer.  This is actually the only MAC pic slide
  152. show available for the ST!  Scrolls the pics one after the other for
  153. you to see.  Choose 'single' from the menu and you can load one at a
  154. time with the ability to save the visible scrollable screen to a Degas
  155. PI2 or PI3.  Color or monochrome.

  172. Include up to 8 names of programs which you can run at the touch of a
  173. key or a simple mouse click.  Stores complete path for harddrive owners
  174. and even looks on both floppies if you have two.  Chaining of menus is
  175. easy so you can have an infinite number of things to run at a touch. 
  176. Install one of these in each slot of the HotWire! menu and you'll have
  177. 416 available slots.  Don't dig through those directories again! Great
  178. for those game disks!

  181. This thing is like a mini Touch Up!  It's that good!  Loads IMG, PCX,
  182. PI?, PC?, TNY, NEO, and more!  Saves in as many formats!  Rotates,
  183. clips, edits, scrolls, flips, fat bits, skinny bits and much much more. 
  184. This program is still growing and you'll want to get on Mr. Parks'
  185. mailing list for the updates. Monochrome only.

  188. Now, for those PrintMaster fans comes finally a sorter organizer for
  189. all those icons!  Choose any or many source files from which you can
  190. choose individual PM icons to move to a destination.  Singly or by just
  191. tagging with a click several names from the list.  Icons are in full
  192. view and it even accepts those 'odd' sized icons from the IBM version
  193. of NewsMaster!
